Even though Chokers are slowing down, the 90’s are still dominating this season and for good reason! Who doesn’t like a little Velvet? I, for one, had waited for this trend and you should see the smile on my face seeing Velvet out in the market in all their soft, heavenly glory. Almost all the street-style brands like Zara, Bershka, H&M, Pull and Bear and even Forever 21 have stocked up on all possible styles in Velvet. So if you are planning to go shopping, pick up anything in velvet!
In this look, I paired up my velvet boots with my velvet top.
Tweed has been one my all-time favorite materials and they are not only for doughty college professors and Sherlock Holmes.
I’m a huge fan of Coco Chanel, and my personal hero Audrey Hepburn, who showed us how to style tweet! The only hitch about tweed it that it’s expensive. So if you don’t want to invest in a tweed jacket, hop on to Sarojini Nagar or Fashion Street and there is a very high chance you will find something super stylish there. In the picture I’m wearing a tweed jacket by Zara.
3. Knee High boots
Knee high boots are all the rage this season. The unmissable Kardashians have been marching in knee high boots for quite some time now. If you’re someone (like me!) who prances about in boots indoors waiting for winter, the time has come to break them out! They make you feel sexy, warm and are usually super comfortable. What wouldn’t I give to get Olaf’s personal snowstorm and wear boots all year long.
But it you’re in place where winters are more forgiving you could pick open-toe high boots. The boots in the picture are by misguided.com.
4. Dark Lipstick
For someone who loves winters, dark isn’t gloomy, it’s sexy! So why not up the game by wearing a dark lipstick. Kat Von D launched a full range of dark and glittery lipsticks that you pick up from a Sephora outlet near you. Lipsticks can uplift your outfit and your mood, and dark burgundy is my favorite this season.
Tip – if you apply a dark lipstick, reapply the foundation around your lips to make the color of the lipstick pop out.
5. Polo necks
The only reason why Polo necks should never be out of fashion is. . . . Shahrukh.
Now that’s out the way, I think Polos are big this season. Ranbir wore it to Koffee with Karan looking absolutely delectable in a black Polo neck, looking every bit his part as the scion of the Kapoor family! Polo necks can do on their own but they look even better when worn with blazers.
